Member’s first.
The Real Estate Institute of Queensland is a member organisation for real estate professionals.
The highlights
While I was the Creative Director of the REIQ Journal, a 75-year-old monthly print magazine, I was seconded to other business units to work on digital products.

Interactive forms

Integrated certificates
-

-
Newsstand app
It’s the last two that were certainly highlights for me.
The Journal.
I sent around 26 issues to the printer. During that journey, I got it on the app store too.
It was a self-initiated project.
Here’s why I made the app…
Member Feedback
Members always gave feedback. I’d receive phone calls and visits along with the hallway chats at breakfast functions. There were lots of suggestions and requests.
Email Surveys
Working closely with the Marketing Manager we were able to collect interaction data and ask direct questions via surveys.
YIP Forum
I facilitated the Young Industry Professionals group. With direct access to those forming the future of real estate. I’d place items on the agenda to collect information.
First-hand Contact
We held several events each year including a large conference and gala awards night. I was able to attend these events and collect feedback first-hand from delegates.
And then there’s the other highlight.
The property portal (reiq.com)
This product has since been acquired by a national portal. It was built to combat the monopoly held by REA.
My role was to provide digital design assistance for the interface and to facilitate and interpret feedback for actionable iterations.
Member feedback.
Here’s an internal comm piece I presented at events to introduce members to the product.
